This past weekend, we stopped by Universal Studios Hollywood to see the progress of Super Nintendo World on the lower lot. We also wanted to see the progress of striking sets from Halloween Horror Nights as the colorful lights of Grinchmas go up around the park.
On November 9th, Universal held their annual "Day of Giving" event in front of Universal Studios Hollywood. Universal teamed up with Operation School Bell to give over 300 homeless school children shoes, backpacks, toys and more. If you haven't heard of Operation School Bell, they provide more than 6,700 underserved elementary-age school children in LA Unified School District (LAUSD) with new school clothes, enhancing their self-esteem and chance to succeed. In addition to ordering, preparing, and organizing the shoes, clothing, and other items, OSB fundraise to purchase these items. OSB member volunteers contribute more than 25,000 service hours annually to make all this happen! They work one-on-one with the children, making sure that the clothing fits well and that each child feels valued and special.

We are never shy about our love for Halloween and all things spooky. So there's always a level of sadness when the fog dissipates and HHN goes back into it's crypt. Thankfully, the happiest season of them all follows up Halloween and USH pulls out all the stops.

FINALLY! The Halloween season is upon us and although masks are prevalent, it could never dampen our excitement for all things scary! We were supremely lucky to be invited to Universal Studios Hollywood for Halloween Horror Nights this year to see what they had in store after missing 2020. Like many people, missing the 2020 haunt season really affected us more than we thought. We've said it before and we'll sound like broken records, but haunts aren't just about getting scared. It's about being with friends, making memories, screaming together and having fun. HHN 2021 reminded us about all these things and really showed us why we missed HHN. We won't lie, it was an emotional night! Finally being back at HHN and fully immersing ourselves in the IP's that reign supreme at this event. Each year of HHN brings new challenges to the team behind the event. Always being judged by their previous efforts. With a lineup of characters that haunted all our dreams when we were little, 2021 promised and delivered on all our nightmares.
