Everything We Are Getting From Star Wars in 2019

2019 is shaping up to be a massive year in the World of Star Wars. There is so much content coming to our eye ears, and even taste buds, yes even taste buds. This might be the biggest year ever in star wars history since 1977, this is everything were going to get from Star Wars in 2019.

Conventions: Star Was Celebration is taking place over a whopping five days this year in Chicago from April 11 through April 15. While no news has been officially confirmed as far as panels goes, rumor is the first trailer for Episode 9, will come out, as well as the title of the film. Again nothing confirmed but there are a few things I really want from celebration. I want a look into The Mandalorian, and I would love a panel on more details about Galaxy’s Edge. I would also really like to know what the future holds for Star Wars Films going forward.

Novels and Comic Books:
Flight of the Falcon: Said to be released in early January, this book will literally follow the flight path of the falcon and show how the iconic ship has changed hands over the years.

E.K. Johnston is releasing a book entitled Star Wars Queen’s Shadow which will give backstory to Padme Amadala in between episode one and two. Of all the novels being released this year this one is the lowest in terms of anticipation for me personally. However I will be reading this as soon as possible. Queen Shadow will be released on March 5, 2019.

Master & Apprentice: Written by arguably the best writer for Star Wars right now, and in my opinion she is the best, this book is the one I am looking forward to the most, hands down. This novel will take place prior to Episode One and Will focus on Qui-Gon and Obi Wan’s relationship. I have always loved Qui-Gon and I am very interested to learn more about this fan favorite Jedi. – April 16, 2019.

Alphabet Squadron: Taking place after the events of Return of the Jedi, the time frame I am most interested in, and focuses on a band of Rebel Pilots who go from being the hunted to the hunters and hunt down the last remnants of the Empire. Sounds very interesting for a book but I have to be honest, Alphabet Squadron is a HORRIBLE name. I am very interested in this title regardless. This book is being released on June 4, 2019.

Age of Republic, Age of Rebellion and Age of Resistance: This all new comic line from Marvel will show specific stories from the three iconic eras of Star Wars. The breakdowns of each arc are as follows: When the event was announced, Marvel shared, “It’s going to be four months, eight issues, and each month is going to have a hero story and a villain story.”
Star Wars: Age of Republic by Jody Houser will showcase different heroes and villains including Qui-Gon Jinn, Darth Maul, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jango Fett, Anakin Skywalker, Count Dooku, Padmé Amidala, General Grievous.

Star Wars: Age of Rebellion by Greg Pak Lando Calrissian, Jabba the Hutt, Han Solo, Boba Fett, Luke Skywalker, Grand Moff Tarkin, Princess Leia Organa, Darth Vader.

Star Wars: Age of Resistance by Tom Taylor Poe Dameron, Supreme Leader Snoke, Finn,Captain Phasma,Rose Tico,General Hux,Rey,Kylo Ren

This technically kicks off in December of 2018 but most issues will debut in 2019. Very excited for this line, especially the Snoke issue.
There are a few other books coming out but these are the ones that drive the story forward.

TV Shows: The Mandalorian: The Mandalorian is the first live action star wars TV show, and is headed to the Disney Streaming service called Disney Plus, The project is being led by John Favereau. We recently heard that Pedro Pascal is the lead actor in the show. There are a slew of directors involved with the show, Dave Filoni is doing the pilot and Taika Waititi and Dallas Bryce Howard are all expected to direct episodes. While the details of the story are still very slim this is the one to keep your eye on in 2019. As I was writing this Gina Carano got announced to be apart of this project, if that name sounds familiar that’s because she was a former MMA fighter, and was Angel Dust in Deadpool.

Clone Wars returning: Another Disney Plus Project that has a lot of fans getting very excited is the return of the Clone Wars animated series. I am not interested in this only because I have never cared for this time frame in star wars, and because I have yet to finish Clone Wars. Just seems a little unnecessary.

Cassian Andor Show: This was just announced yesterday as of writing this, and this is a show also coming to the Disney+ service, and will be a prequel to Rogue One, and will center around Star Wars bad-ass Cassian Andor. Diego Luna is reprising his role as the titular character and I am hoping Alan Tudyk will make his triumphant return as K2SO!

Galaxy’s Edge: Of all the things we are going to get in 2019 related to star wars, this is by far the thing I am most excited about. I live in Orlando so I will be visiting Galaxy’s Edge virtually every day. There is so much to be excited about when it comes to this land here in Orlando and in Anaheim. Between the Two attractions, the at least one restaurant (probably) 2, Oga’s Cantina, the market place, and just the over all atmosphere of the land, this is going to be the place to be in 2019. I will be there at Disneyland’s opening day, in summer, I’m guessing June, but we don’t know specifically when that is, but i will be there. And of course when they open it here at DHS in late fall 2019. guessing December for it opening at DHS.

Episode IX: This is the project we know the least about right now, but J.J. is back to direct the follow up to The Last Jedi. This is my number two on my list for the year in 2019. I am cautiously optimistic about this film. I am slightly nervous about J.J. Abrams wrapping up the trilogy. He is good at set up (i.e the Force Awakens) but I am not sure hes the best closer (ie Lost). Also don’t comment down below, I know he didn’t finish Lost, but that only proves my point even further. But I am very curios how this trilogy rounds out. I am looking forward to see what happens specifically with Kylo. BUT we will wait and see.
