Year after year, throngs of people descend up on the Long Beach Convention Center to take part in the worlds largest Halloween and Horror convention called Midsummer Scream. To put it simply for those that don't know or haven't heard of Midsummer Scream; it's a safe space for people from all walks of life to celebrate what Halloween and Horror means to them.
The summer season has arrived here in Southern California! Even if we've been met with a little extra June gloom. But some off beat weather has never kept us away from our favorite SoCal theme parks. Especially Knott's Berry Farm with their triple threat of experiences with Ghost Town Alive, Knott's Summer Nights, and the reimagined Fiesta Village.
Fiesta Village originally opened at Knott's Berry Farm back in 1969 to pay homage to California's deeply rooted Mexican and Spanish heritage. It was also the second "land" added to Knott's Berry Farm after the completion of Ghost Town. Much like Ghost Town, many families who've visited Knott's over the years have fond family memories of spending time in Fiesta Village. Or quite possibly it was the spot of your very first roller coaster, Montezuma's Revenge! Over the past (almost) 55 years, plenty of happy memories were made in Fiesta Village.
Right across the street from Knott's Berry Farm, you'll find Knott's Soak City! This popular SoCal waterpark is opening for the season and people from all over visit in search of thrills and a way to beat the summer heat. Coinciding with the six month countdown to Halloween aka “Half-o-ween”, Spooky Swap Meet returns to the hauntingly beautiful Heritage Square Museum for a macabre, curated shopping experience, including, new for this year, a walk-thru haunted attraction! Saturday and Sunday, April 29 and 30, 2023, from 10am-7pm on Saturday and 10am-5pm on Sunday.
If someone were to ask me what my favorite time of year at Knotts Berry farm was, I honestly don’t think I would know how to answer because there are just so many amazing options to choose from. Do I go spooky and say Scary Farm? Do I embrace the magic of Knotts during the holidays and say Merry Farm? Or what about the undeniable magic of Ghost Town Alive? My honest answer would have to be that I love them all as their time comes around each year. And now, the time has once again come around for the amazing, the delicious, the PURPLE, Boysenberry Festival!
On Thursday, March 2nd we were invited to be a part of Knott’s Berry Farm’s Boysenberry Festival Preview Event. This after hours, media only event was held inside of the Wilderness Dance Hall in Ghost Town and featured a slew of different foods and merchandise that will be available to guests who visit the Boysenberry Festival March 10th-April 16th, 2023.
