Knott’s Scary Farm is single handedly our favorite Haunt to visit during the Halloween season. The music is entrancing, the smell of the fog is alluring, and the sights of the endless hoards of monsters is frightening! Of course we knew that Knott’s was having a panel at Midsummer Scream, so we were eagerly awaiting to hear the news for 2017. Although they seem to be holding A LOT back for their annual passholder preview event, we got some bombshell announcements that made the crowd go insane, including us! Below are the details of the news that was released at this years Midsummer Scream. Do not forget to go to Knotts.com for ticket information and how you can attend the Grand Daddy of all haunts!
Knott’s Scary Farm Announces HUGE news for 2017!
Knott’s Scary Farm, the largest most haunting Halloween experience in Southern California, unveiled hair-raising news and details about its 45th season at the Midsummer Scream Halloween festival. Knott’s held an exclusive panel for fans featuring Scary Farm maze designer, Jon Cooke. Here’s what’s coming to Knott’s Scary Farm this season:
· The lineup for this year will return with 13 haunted attractions and over 1,000 monsters lurking in the fog
· For the first time in Scary Farm history, Fright Lane will also include Fast lane which will give guest priority access to all mazes and select rides!
Nikki and I both noticed that they never mentioned Skeleton Key with Fright Lane. Either was purposefully done as to not reveal it just yet (waiting till their AP Event) or they have done away with it. I guess we have to wait and see.
· Elvira, the legendary Mistress of the Dark, returns for her final appearance at Knott’s Scary Farm in an all-new spellbinding nightly show
Both of us are sad to hear Elvira will be making her last appearances at Knott’s Scary Farm this season. She has continued to be a long time favorite at Haunt and will be missed. There are some BIG (VERY BIG)…shoes to fill.
· Returning darker and more twisted than ever step inside the Green Witch’s home by venturing through the blacked out building in Trick or Treat: Lights Out. Armed with only a faulty flashlight, face the terror of the Green Witch’s house completely in the dark. Featuring new state-of-the-art effects, unexpected scares and other eerie surprises, Trick-Or-Treat is back to terrorize like never before.
In my humble opinion, I was waiting for this to happen. With the 45th Anniversary of the event this year, and the much bigger 50th right around the corner, The Green Witch couldn’t be with us much longer. But I seriously love the direction they took the attraction. Really taking it into a much dark place (but how much darker could you get, ALSO no pun intended) this year, Trick or Treat: Lights Out looks to be a promising addition to the event.
Knott’s Scary Farm will return from September 21 – October 31st. Tickets are now on sale at: https://www.knotts.com/tickets-passes/scary-farm
