Sometimes the daily struggles of life really keep us from realizing how truly fortunate a lot of us are at the end of the day. We are guilty of this often. Whether it be as trivial as not obtaining a “Boarding Group” pass at Disneyland or just simply a plumbing issue at home. There are plenty of things in life that keep our stress levels high. But even with those stressors, we are very lucky to have what we do because there are others who aren’t as fortunate. It really puts the small issues in life into perspective. For those who volunteer for the Universal Studios Hollywood 17th Annual Day of Giving” Event, this perspective is even more evident. This past Thursday (Thursday November 10th), Universal Studios Hollywood invited 300 homeless children to the park for much needed supplies in life as well as a fun filled day at the park. It’s honestly heartwarming to see it all happen, especially when they get a day of fun inside the park. A truly incredible moment for kids who might not ever have a chance to visit otherwise. Below is some information regarding the philanthropic event and some photos of the kids getting the items they need.

Universal Studios Hollywood celebrates its 17th annual “Day of Giving” philanthropic event as hundreds of employee volunteers participate in select community outreach activities across Los Angeles. The theme park will serve as home base for Operation School Bell, hosting approximately 300 homeless children for a day of theme park fun.

The children will also be the recipients of an assortment of new clothing and school supplies, from shoes to uniforms and backpacks to books. The afternoon will be spent enjoying Universal Studios Hollywood and some of the theme park’s most engaging rides and attractions, including “Jurassic World – The Ride,” “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter,” Illumination’s “The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash” and the world-famous Studio Tour.

“Day of Giving” event is an annual Universal Studios Hollywood tradition designed to inspire and connect employees with diverse community organizations, many of which are beneficiaries of the company’s in-house philanthropic organization, Discover A Star Foundation whose mission is to empower individuals and families to lead more productive and fulfilling lives. The day-long event also supports other non-profit organizations across Los Angeles, including MEND Foodbank, TreePeople, and Together We Rise.
